And I mean it. Last night I logged into my PayPal account to check how much moolah I’ve got. Surprisingly I saw a “limited access” message boldly written on the home page. Upon some frantic searching from some places I found out that I needed to provide certain documents to verify myself. That’s fine but when I clicked on the link to resolve the issue it just wouldn’t give me the checklist of items that I needed to produce. It is quite suffocating to know that my money has been unnecessarily blocked and I can’t appeal against it or speak to them.
My troubles worsened when my case ID couldn’t be found in the database which meant that I do not know why my account has been de-regularised. Inspite of writing 3-4 mails via the contact form on the website, I got the same replies for all of them. It was probably an auto-responder. It sucks to think that Paypal which is handling finances globally should resort to such practices especially when it knows that the users will be located in different geographies and time zones. At this moment I have lost all hopes of getting back my money. The least that I can do is set up another account and hope for some business to come my way. If somebody has faced a similar situation and has a solution please contact me immediately.
PayPal sucks anytime! If you’re with PayPal you’re bound to have problems. Checkout http://www.paypalsucks.com if you want to know more!
I know about that website but that isn’t solving my problem. How do I get PayPal to send me a checklist of things which they require to verify my account? that’s the bigger question.
You’ll probably need to get your account verified. Your account is switched to Limited Access only when;
1. There’s any fraudlent activity
2. Someone who paid you, complained against you.
3. Third party logins
You will need to submit credit card information and verify that you own the credit card if you’re an Indian user. If you have a US based account you might need to run for the Fax machine :P
By the way, Support sucks. Either they don’t understand or they’re just too stupid and send a same response again and again! Personal experience!
Hope this helps.
Thanks Harry :-) I know that I am not the only one facing this issue.
The trouble is that Paypal (PP) has not given me a checklist of things which they need to verify, for instance the ones which you have played out in your earlier reply. In the absence of such a checklist I am totally lost on how I should appeal against this thing. There’s no referenece to verification documents in the resolution center also.
Do this. Log into your PayPal account, click Resolve. You should get the checklist. If the money involved is a huge number, try giving them a call personally. That should work.
I already did that. There’s nothing there. No checklist of documents required. I think the best way is to give them a call staright. The amount in my account is meagre as compared to others but it’s my money nevertheless.
I will give them a call sooner or later.
Yeah they limited all my accounts too´): They suck!!
