Yoohoo! Adit’s Here!

AdityaVery rarely do I express my feelings in such a manner but it feels happy/elated to be in the company of my nephew Aditya whose on a 3 week visit to India from Hong Kong after almost a year. He’s here to stay with his Nani (a mom’s mother is known as Nani in India) and me for the longish weekend that we’re having for the Christmas. He’s all of 5 years but more mature then most in his age group and he’s learned to do things on his own which includes taking fine pictures with his dad’s digital camera. I got to see the demo yesterday :-)

Adit has been the most wonderful child I have come across. I was surprised seeing him behave like an adult asking all sorts of trivia questions to me and actually striking a conversation whenever he could. He’s also very friendly with all while most other kids would be apprehensive talking to strangers. The most remarkable attribute is that he’s staying with us without his dad or mom around and he seems to have gelled completely in a totally alien environment. I took him for a ride on Maruti Swift. He enjoys driving around in my car a lot and never seems to get tired provided he’s seated in the front.

Today I took him to the Sanjay Gandhi National Park. He wanted to visit the Lion and Tiger Safari and I have found that he loves animals a lot (apparently loves watching the Animal Planet all the while). He was thrilled to see a white tiger and also the lioness from a very close quarter.

My mom has some problems conversing with him in English and it reminds me of the same issue that I had with MY Nani when I used to visit her at her house at Grant Road. Thanks to her, I am now well-versed with the language Marathi. Life has come full circle but his stay has certainly bought a pleasant smile on our faces :-)
